MOBILE INTEGRATED HEALTH - ARLINGTON
In the fall of 2020, then Mayor Barbara Tolbert of Arlington, WA convened a group to discuss the development of a Mobile Integrated Health (MIH) program. Our CEO, Dr. Kaitlyn Goubeau, assisted in the development of a proposal to Senator Wagoner. This proposal was funded through the state budget as a pilot project from 2021-2023. During the next biennium budget (2023-2025), the pilot was extended. This program continues to be funded through the State of Washington.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
CJSW receives referrals from Arlington Police Department to assist community members in need of behavioral health or social supports. Our social workers provide de-escalation, crisis intervention, biopsychosocial assessment, brief therapeutic intervention, case management, assistance with with ITA paperwork, coordination with hospital and DCR staff among many others.
The goal of this program is to reduce the over-utilization of emergency services by addressing the root cause of the issues leading to consistent 9-1-1 calls.
